Well, now we're all limbered up, perhaps another?
I think one of the latter variants of the CSRs, with tokens, markers and monuments...
The exact variation i shall leave to you. What do you think?

Re: A margianlly more advanced game..
Mon, December 6, 2004 - 2:00 PMwell, not necesasarily.
Have you got any preferences as to the variation? -
-
Re: A margianlly more advanced game..
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 2:59 AMHow about introducing the continental "Chateau d'Eau" extensions? Obviously this will also require the Eurostar rules and double back "out of knuth". -
-
Re: A margianlly more advanced game..
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 3:29 AMYes, that would make for an interesting game.
Is this ok with everyone else?
-
Re: A margianlly more advanced game..
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 3:31 AMI played the Hirohito variation about a year ago. Very interesting, apart from trying to explain to an American contestant that just because of Pearl Harbour did not mean that the New York Subway routes were valid.
Of course, the confusion over the Heathrow Express (weekend) ruling meant that we had to add the reverse change at Green Park requirement.

Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 3:35 AMI will begin with the Amelie Variation, which has been proving very popular.

Tue, December 7, 2004 - 3:53 AMYou leave me with little option but to parry with Theydon Bois. -

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 4:00 AMChesham is the most obvious response to that. And since I feel like being obvious, that is what I shall play.
CHESHAM -

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 4:08 AMChesham? And leave yourself open for the metropolitan switch?
A schoolboy error! Aldgate East. -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 4:43 AMWell, thankfully I am not a schoolboy, rather, I played that move to test you. And you fell into my trap.
Using the Hangar Lane manoeuver, I give you:

Tue, December 7, 2004 - 4:49 AMoooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhh!
Impressive.
But, I can see a reversal along the diagonals, and sushi is calling me.
Paddington. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 5:00 AMYou can't do that! I've alread played a metropolitan switch, and the Amelie variation was in force.
I might be persuaded to allow Lancaster Gate, but marble arch is a bridge to far in my book. -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 5:01 AMWell, you've left the Gate open, and the horse has bolted.
Heathrow, Terminal 3. -

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 5:28 AMHorse securely stabled again which took me back to Farm Street. -

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 5:42 AMWell, given that you just played a stabling move, i can -- comfortably -- play Canary Wharf. -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 6:12 AMWell that just about does it for me... i'm left little option except mudchute and so i go to
WEST HAMPSTED (Thameslink) -

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 6:33 AMHmm. A tricky sidling manoeuvre there...
I don't want to cause a ruckus, but would Streatham Common be acceptable? -

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 6:39 AMThat was going to be my move! Right, um,

Chelsea Harbour pier move -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 8:17 AMWell, i shall have to invoke the winter waterways exception and play Port of London. -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 9:05 AMHaha, I can call a Hirohito move!!!!!
Nakaokachimachi -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 10:13 AMI will confess to needing a little bit of assistance on this one, but that move, without any doubt whatsoever, calls, in no uncertain terms for... EPPING!
Ha. -

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 11:10 AMWell that just screams

Wed, December 8, 2004 - 6:18 AMLavender Hill, eh?
I think i can use the Places of Interest bonus here and score double for the Natural History museum...
Correct? -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Wed, December 8, 2004 - 7:54 AMI think you'll find this is allowed if you invoke the Earl Grey Secondary ammendment ( 3rd edition) ruling. I recall the late great Willy Rushton ( all bow down) using that particular move to devasting effect after an extremely underhand move by Barry Cryer thus avoiding the enforcement of the Harrovian penalty!

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 2:22 AMYou crept in under the wire with that one, but you got away only because of the famous Humph intervention of 1976.
West Ruislip. -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 2:24 AMSurely West Rusilip can't be allowed, given that Wapping has already been sacrificed and several tokens have been exchanged?
I think we need a ruling. -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 2:52 AMwatling street variation
Players may only take the direct route between any two given points. Thus, looped moves are disallowed, and the Circle Line is out of bounds. And you may Huff.
( Byt the way:Central standard rules
Of particular note, if a woman is playing in a team entirely consisting of men, if they are not wearing bow ties, they forfeit their first goes.) -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 4:15 AMI concede.
In that case it was valid, and i can do nothing but forfeit my next go. -
-
Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 4:32 AMI'm wearing a bow-tie, and I have just dropped my trousers and proved it, the fragrant Samantha witnessed the event. In fact, when I showed her, she almost had a stroke, in fact she would have done, but I pushed her hand away.

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 5:56 AMVery cunning indeed, sir.
Not quite cunning, enough however. You should never leave your flanks exposed is such a fashion, certainly not in the modern game. I do concede that it was fashionable and useful in the latter part of the seventeenth century, but now it is just foolhardy.
The Harrow Road. -

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 7:09 AMThe Harrow Road!
Very devious, but well with in the rules we're playing by.
Using the lunar tranverse loop as modified by My Brook Taylor, I submit:

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 7:12 AMIn that case i have little option but to use St Ockwell's shielding defence and play Cockfosters. -

Re: Let's PLAY!!!
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 7:38 AMSurely a little early in the day to play Cockfosters, but I'm in a rush, so 'Willowbank' -
